like humans, grapefruits carry memories and some may be happy, exciting, sad or traumatic.

this short video visually depicts the presumed, individual and collective, memories of a grapefruit – triggered by its slicing. from within its exposed insides, the grapefruit’s physiological, social and political memories are projected. these citric, rounded and pulpy recollections are framed by the adjacent belly of their devouring human, insinuating their total integration into this body.

like all foods, grapefruits are assumed to be memory-absent entities, but only if one denies their inherent genetic memory and overlooks their physically recorded (both visible and invisible) subjective responses to the world and its events.
